   Github copilot class action lawsuit

   A class action lawsuit has been filed against GitHub copilot which says the defendants have violated the legal rights of a vast number of creators who posted code or other work under certain open-source licenses on GitHub. The issue seems to be that of attribution Ratter the lack of attribution in this case.

   The model is being released under a Creative ML OpenRAIL-M license. This is a permissive license that allows for commercial and non-commercial usage. It must also be made available to end users of the model in any service on it.

   Account deletion requirement starts June 30

   Apps that support account creation must let users initiate deletion of their account within the app starting June 30, 2022. This deadline was extended to provide additional time for implementation of this requirement. The account deletion option should be easy to find in your app. Apps in highly-regulated industries may provide additional service flows to confirm and facilitate the account deletion process. As always, check with your legal counsel.
