    Fresh 1.0

    Fresh is a new full stack web framework for Deno. By default, web pages built with Fresh send zero JavaScript to the client. The framework has no build step which allows for an order of magnitude improvement in deployment times. Fresh is a routing framework and templating engine that renders pages as they are requested, on a server. It also provides an interface for seamlessly rendering some components on the client for maximum interactivity.

    How I cut GTA Online loading times by 70%

    GTA Online has been criticized for its slow loading times. The game takes a minute to load the common resources used for both story and online modes. GTA decides to max out a single core on my machine for four minutes and do nothing else. I was expecting vast amounts of disk reads loading up resources. But this? This is probably a bug.

    SMS phishing is way too easy

    SMS has a sender ID which is set by the sender, requires no identity verification. This allows anyone to send messages to any number, identifying themselves as whoever they want to impersonate. Phones should warn users of non-verified sender IDs. Companies should stop sending URLs over SMS.

    New UUID Formats

    Modern applications have a need to create and utilize UUIDs as the primary identifier for a variety of different items in complex computational systems. UUID versions 1-5 lack certain other desirable characteristics. Privacy and network security issues arise from using a MAC address in the node field of Version 1 Uuids. Exposed MAC addresses can be used as an attack surface to locate machines.
