System76 announced their roadmap for COSMIC desktop Epochs 2 and 3. Epoch 2 will bring a Vulkan renderer for the compositor, significant CPU usage reductions through reactive rendering (60-80%), gaming experience improvements, window drop shadows, and Wacom tablet support. Epoch 3 will add HDR and Night Light support, workspace animations, gamepad support, session restoration, and LSP support for the COSMIC Edit editor. No release timeline has been provided.
