The basisu command line tool has a new -peek option that opens standard ARM LDR/HDR .ASTC texture files, unpacks each block, and computes statistics about the ASTC configurations used. This tool revealed that Intel's ispc_texcomp ASTC encoder is effectively broken for practical use.
