Redox OS, the Rust-based open-source operating system, has made notable progress in February. Key milestones include initial Vulkan support via the CPU-based Lavapipe software rendering driver (the first Vulkan support on Redox OS), Node.js now running on the platform, and the COSMIC compositor running as a Winit window for proof of concept. Additional improvements cover COSMIC Settings support, package manager enhancements, more reliable multi-threading, an in-progress on-screen performance monitor, and various kernel, driver, and Relibc libc implementation updates.
