Although this article is from 2016, it’s still very much relevant. I myself have been free from social media for 3 years now and I am a much happier and calmer person. Good riddance.

At least use it professionally. That means : publish a lot, but don’t necessary read them.

I agree up to a certain point, but it should focus more on people learning how to use it rather than quitting.
The only profiles I follow are those I am genuinely interested in (mainly E-Sports), as well as organizations or news sites. If I can go on a social media platform and scroll through my feed to get updates about things and people I actually care about, what’s the problem?
Usually, the problem arises when you follow 100+ profiles. It becomes impossible to stay up to date with everything and easy to get drawn into pointless discussions with “not-so-smart” people in the comment sections. Also there are still great “bubbles” where you can connect with like-minded individuals you might never have met otherwise.
