NVIDIA released the 595.44.06 beta driver for Linux, bringing fixes and performance improvements to VK_EXT_descriptor_heap support. This extension enables explicit descriptor memory management, reduces CPU overhead, and improves the Steam Play (VKD3D-Proton) experience. The update also adds performance improvements for shader operations on BDA data and allows external buffers and images to be bound to host-visible, device-local memory.
