NVIDIA has released the 610.43.02 Linux driver, the first beta in the new R610 series succeeding R595. Key additions include support for several new Vulkan extensions (VK_EXT_shader_long_vector, VK_KHR_internally_synchronized_queues, VK_NV_push_constant_bank), multi-GPU logical device creation via VK_KHR_device_group_creation, and FP16 EGL framebuffer configurations on Wayland. The driver also adds support for the per-plane DRM Color Pipeline API (available since Linux kernel 6.19), enabling hardware-accelerated color management on Wayland. Performance regressions in Doom: The Dark Ages (Vulkan, since R590) are fixed, and Starfield performance is improved. DRM format modifiers for multi-planar YCbCr formats and mmap() on DMA-BUF file descriptors from discrete GPUs are also added. Notably, Xinerama support has been removed from the NVIDIA X11 driver.
