You forgot “on personal projects”

I have the very similar experience. An finally I agree with this:

You can create prompts, get unexpected hints and ideas, and so on. But in my experience, very often it takes too much time prompting to get an expected or even acceptable result. Sometimes, after a week of prompting, you find yourself exhausted and frustrated, still without a usable outcome.
Yes, assistants can tackle simple tasks very fast. But for more complex tasks, they often fail — even those that have access to the complete project folder. Frequently, their knowledge is cut off a year ago. Sure, they can use MCP and web search to look up related documentation, but that doesn’t always help.
My last problem was exactly this: the documentation was obsolete because the project was developing very fast and the developers didn’t keep the docs up to date. The assistants I use (Antigravity and Claude Code with Opus/Sonnet 4.5) were not able to solve the issue, even when I explicitly pointed them to the framework’s source code.
In the end, I investigated the sources myself and solved the issue after two days of trial and error. It was my own solution — elegant and exactly what I needed. No frustration, just time, concentration, and a bit of euphoria when I finally saw the result behaving as expected.
