    Comparing Elixir with Rust and Go

    Elixir is a functional and concurrent programming language built on top of Erlang. Elixir uses the Supervisor and Application model to build fault-tolerant systems. Elixir also uses the BEAM virtual machine, a fast compiler that compiles Erlang code into bytecode.

    A love letter to React

    React came with a reactive HTML-aware component model for building UIs and colocated markup directly in the app code. Phoenix borrowed a lot from React when we first shipped LiveView in 2018, but only recently have we gone all-in with an HTML- aware component system in Phoenix 1.7. The advantage of this approach is a natural composition of static HTML tags alongside dynamic components and logic.

    A full video is now up discussing the stack I would use. I honestly only care about the intro though. Who doesn’t want to be competent, save time and purify their soul?

    [blog] My experience learning Elixir as a JavaScript developer

    I’ve loved it and have learned so much but not without a lot of struggles. Not many junior devs get into Elixir but I decided to learn it just 6 months after graduating a bootcamp. No regrets. It’s been a great learning experience.

    LiveView 0.18 Released

    Declarative assigns and slots provide compile-time warnings and enhanced docs. New out-of-the-box focus components and JS commands provide accessibility improvements. LiveView 0.18 includes a few primitives to help on this front. The HEEx formatter handles all those cases – Formatting generic markup, Formatting Elixir expressions and formatting your Elixir expressions within tags.
