Microsoft is rolling out a Windows 11 update that finally separates the Restart and Shut Down actions from pending update installations. Users will be able to restart or shut down immediately without being forced to install downloaded updates first. The change also improves app restoration speed after a restart and makes the Power menu more predictable. Additional update control improvements include 35-day delay bursts, a selectable install day, and no forced OOBE downloads. The feature is currently available to Windows Insiders.
