Your SSD endurance anxiety is outdated, and here's why it doesn't matter anymore

Modern SSDs have far outpaced the endurance concerns that plagued early consumer drives in the 2010s. Thanks to dramatically higher TBW ratings, advanced wear leveling, larger SLC caches, and system-level features like TRIM, the average user browsing, gaming, or streaming will never come close to wearing out their drive. The only real exception is professionals doing constant heavy writes — video editors, 3D renderers, or large-scale data processors — where TBW limits remain a genuine consideration. For everyone else, storage hygiene today is more about performance optimization than survival, and the old habit of rationing writes is simply outdated.
