Greg Kroah-Hartman and Sasha Levin have extended the end-of-life dates for several active Linux LTS kernels. Linux 6.6 now EOLs December 2027 (was 2026), Linux 6.12 now EOLs December 2028 (was 2026), and Linux 6.18 now EOLs December 2028 (was 2027). This reverses part of the 2023 decision to cut LTS support windows from six years to two, driven by contributor burnout.
