CSI migration allows storage drivers to be independent of the Kubernetes release cycle. OpenShift supports CSI migration for various drivers, including vSphere. Upgrades may be blocked for clusters using in-tree PVs, but can be unlocked by updating vSphere or providing administrator acknowledgement. It is safe to enable CSI migration in OCP 4.13 if running on vSphere 7.0u3L+ or 8.0u2+.
