This is a bad analogy, completely misses the point of “reciprocal tariff”. Then again, politics of all sides is guilty of this behavior. Can’t seem to make a point without using strawmen.

kinda of a bad analogy that misses the point of why would you want to impose a tariff.
when your trade “partners” are going out of their to edge you out of their locval markets and want you to open your own borders ot their markets you end up in a major trade deficit if you do nothing ot stop and your local industry effectively gets undermined into dissapearing
enforcing a tariff on imports will hurt in the short term but will force the tradE “partners” to trade on equal terms or be barred from that market.
on the analogy of the post it would be like the other company is capable of buying your scans, they would benefit from buying your scans for their own use, but they made a conscious decision to not do it specifically to push their own, but will at the samre time actively forbid their employees from interacting with you under threat of being fired.

they left out the part where the pizza place actually used to be a pizza place in the home town owned by your neighbor “rick”, where rick had to pay your kids minimum to work their, and also adhere to u.s. labor laws and environmental standards, which cost more. but now rick shipped his pizza place over to another country which makes it a lot cheaper because they dont have those labor laws or standards and now makes his pizza cheaper there and ships it back to you. rick also gets a tax break now for being an “international” company and pays less taxes then he did when making pizzas in your neighborhood. rick now pays less taxes than you do buying the pizza. your kids dont have a job anymore, either. xkcd has been and always been cringe.

Can’t you just focus on science of technology? And ignore the economic political stuff (unless it actually related to science of technology).
Things like these are to complex for a comic panel, and the tariffs have been only been put in place recently, so we don’t know there effect yet. Right now it just seems like Trump bashing because you endorsed Kamala (unless this was a bad joke?).
