Would you ever take a recruiter call without knowing who the company is? Why or why not?

Not it it’s a scheduled call. But if they cold call me, I don’t really have an option 😬 But I’ll lead them on (you bothered me, now I’ll waste your time 😈) and towards the end ask them what company it is for, and if it’s for X company I’m not interested at all.
Why? Because I want to research the company before I bother wasting more time on interviews.

Recruiters run background check’s on their candidates, right? You should be able to know what company you’ll be working for, I need to know if is a real company or not, if is a company that is famous for making you work overtime, if they tend to fire people often, if they have a good work-life balance…
Leaving aside that 99% of the time I don’t take unscheduled calls.

It’s like a dish if you judge for the place or for the comments from someone who order pasta, that doesn’t mean the whole menu is wrong. You can pick up the phone and make a quick assessment.

No, lately i got a lot of spam calls from fake recruiter from linkedin (it looked legit the profile, the company) asking my phone number so now i blocked unknown numbers call and needed schedule first. If such company that looked legit is scamming why bother with unknown company with greater risk. At least email first and talk from there.

If it means I will be offered a position, sure!
