Engineers, physicists, and computer specialists at Xanadu Quantum Technologies Inc. have introduced the world's first scalable and connected photonic quantum computer. Published in the journal *Nature*, this modular quantum computer can easily be scaled up by connecting additional racks, each containing quantum computer components. The system utilizes photonic technology, which removes the need for traditional electron-based parts and enables operation at room temperature. Testing showed that the system is capable of complex, large-scale computations with high fault tolerance.
