Workspaces in Seconds: Introducing Serverless Workspaces

Databricks launches Serverless Workspaces in Public Preview across all clouds, enabling workspace creation in seconds instead of days. The feature eliminates manual infrastructure setup by providing instant serverless compute, pre-configured Unity Catalog storage, and automatic governance integration. Teams can immediately start data and AI projects without configuring cloud networking, storage credentials, or compute resources. Default storage offers zero-configuration data access with enterprise security features, while serverless egress policies simplify network security. Organizations can choose between serverless workspaces for rapid deployment or classic workspaces for custom VPC requirements and specific network patterns.
