WordPress 7.0 Beta 6 is now available for download and testing ahead of the scheduled April 9, 2026 final release. This beta includes over 132 fixes and updates since Beta 5, notably reverting the Client-side Media Processing feature due to image optimization and package size issues identified in Beta 5. Real Time Collaboration is now opt-in by default via a WP_ALLOW_COLLABORATION constant. Performance improvements include a 4x increase to Real Time Collaboration polling intervals to reduce HTTP requests and server load. RC1 is scheduled for March 24, 2026. Testing can be done via the WordPress Beta Tester plugin, WP-CLI, or WordPress Playground.
