Microsoft has unveiled two custom-designed chips and integrated systems, the Microsoft Azure Maia AI Accelerator and the Microsoft Azure Cobalt CPU, to meet the growing demand for efficient AI and cloud computing. These chips will be rolled out to Microsoft's datacenters next year and will join a range of products from industry partners. By building custom silicon, Microsoft aims to optimize every layer of its infrastructure stack for maximum performance and customer choice.
