Wine 11.5 has been released with a major addition: support for Linux's Syscall User Dispatch feature in Wine's NTDLL implementation. This Linux 5.11+ kernel feature redirects non-native system calls back to user-space, enabling better performance and a cleaner design for Windows compatibility layers. The change fixes a long-standing bug (open since 2019) where games like Detroit: Become Human, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Arknights: Endfield crashed due to direct use of the x86_64 SYSCALL instruction. The release also includes C++ support in the build system, bundled ICU libraries, VBScript compatibility fixes, and 22 total bug fixes.
