Microsoft is rolling out Windows Update improvements to Windows Insiders that give users more control over update timing and reduce disruptive restarts. Key changes include: the ability to pause updates for up to 35 days using a calendar interface with no fixed extension limit; a redesigned Power menu that separates standard restart/shutdown from update-triggered actions; clearer driver update labels showing the device type; and consolidation of Driver, .NET, and firmware updates into a single monthly restart alongside cumulative updates. These changes follow analysis of over 7,600 pieces of user feedback highlighting disruption and lack of control as top complaints.
