COSMIC Desktop now supports window shadows and consistent corner rounding across all applications, regardless of toolkit (GTK, Qt, Iced). Previously, only GTK windows had shadows, making it difficult to distinguish focused windows. The update includes user-adjustable controls for shadow and corner radius settings in both floating and tiled modes. These settings are available in Pop!_OS 24.04 LTS and coming to other distributions. The COSMIC team is also developing blur effects for windows and panels as part of ongoing visual refinements.
