One of the things that sets daily.dev apart from other platforms is how the contribution of each one of us creates a network effect that helps many others stay up to date effortlessly. Simple things like reading and upvoting (or downvoting) are at the core of our ranking system and recommendation engine. This is what makes our feed work and this is one of the reasons people use daily.dev on a daily basis.
We love seeing you enjoy the content on daily.dev, it only seems fair to ask for a contribution to keep the platform at its best. Your voice is irreplaceable to our collective experience and we want you to be part of it.
As we grow and develop new functionalities, many upcoming features will genuinely need an account to give you the full experience. It’s not about locking you in; it’s about unlocking possibilities.
For the sake of transparency, it’s important to mention that this also helps us a great deal on the technical side, this move simplifies our operations. Maintaining two sets of users (anonymous and registered) is like running two different events in one venue. Sure, streamlining and simplifying should ultimately give us more resources to build new features and improve the platform for everyone, but it also makes our lives easier, and it’s important for us to be transparent about this motivation.
We know you might be a little skeptical about it. That’s fine. All we ask you is to give it a shot, and if you don’t like it, at least we can get a chance to try and serve you better.
So if signing up isn’t your thing, that’s okay. We honor your freedom to choose. But if you do join us, know that you’re contributing to something bigger. You make daily.dev what it is and what it can be.

Why we’re asking you to sign up

I joined this platform because it offers many benefits for someone like me. Some of the features that I enjoy are:

<li>Customized feed: I can see posts that match my interests and preferences.</li>
<li>Upvote points: I can show my appreciation for other users’ contributions and earn points for my own.</li>
<li>Contribute to the post: I can add my own insights, opinions, or questions to the posts that I find interesting.</li>
<li>Comments upvotes/downvotes: I can express my agreement or disagreement with other users’ comments and see how others react to mine.</li>
<li>Squads: I can create or join groups of users who share similar topics, goals, or hobbies and communicate with them privately or publicly.</li>
<li>Articles: I can Submit articles.</li>
<li>History: I can keep track of the posts that I have read or interacted with and revisit them later.</li>
<li>Save: I can bookmark the posts that I want to save for future reference or access.</li>
<li>Honorable mentions: I can display a generated dev card on github that showcases my readings and streaks. This is a cool feature for nerds like me.</li>
<li>Merch and referrals: there is this feature if u want u can use.</li>
</ul>
These are some of the reasons why I think this platform is great and why you should sign up too. The community is very friendly and helpful, and you can learn a lot from sharing knowledge with others.

Its really great platform. It keeps me updated about the latest in technology. I have been using it for week I’m already loving it
