The section “III. Optimism” is worth taking a moment to absorb and consider what what being a true professional is really about.
I’m known to be grumpy and angry about software. All the systems I use end up hurting like “death by a thousand cuts”.
A common phase I can often be heard muttering is “fucking programmers” (I still am one after a number of decades). But I’m like that because I care and the amount of slop I see people churn out is disgusting. There is a distinct lack of training, and worse, “care” but so many in the software industry and it absolutely pisses me off.
This article is a great read!
