Over the past year I’ve been experimenting a lot with AI tools, image generation models, prompt engineering, and AI music creation. Like most developers who enjoy tinkering, I ended up with hundreds of generated images, prompts, and creative outputs scattered across different tools and folders. At some point I realized something: I was creating a lot of interesting things, but none of it lived in one place.
So I decided to build something simple for myself.
That project turned into creations.johnliter.blog.
<h2>The Idea</h2>
The goal was straightforward: create a place where I could store and share my AI-generated work in an organized way.
Not a portfolio in the traditional sense.
More like a personal archive of experiments.
Things I wanted the site to handle:

<li>The prompts behind those images (coming soon)</li>
<li>AI music experiments generated with Suno (coming soon)</li>
</ul>
Instead of everything being buried in a Google Drive folder, I wanted a clean interface where people could browse through it like a gallery.
<h2>The Developer Side</h2>
As a developer, I didn’t want this to become another manual process where I upload files and edit a page every time.
So I built the system around automation.
The site uses:

<li>PHP + MySQL for the backend</li>
<li>Google Drive to store the original images</li>
<li>n8n automation running on my VPS</li>
<li>GitHub Actions for deployment</li>
</ul>
The workflow looks like this:

Whenever I add a new image to my Google Drive folder, an n8n workflow:

<li>Detects the file</li>
<li>Generates preview + thumbnail links</li>
<li>Inserts the record into my MySQL database</li>
</ol>
The site automatically updates without me touching anything.
It’s basically a small content pipeline for AI creations.
<h2>Why I Built It</h2>
Honestly, the main reason was personal curiosity.
I enjoy experimenting with AI tools and I wanted a place where those experiments could live. Something lightweight, developer-friendly, and automated.
But I also realized something while building it: a lot of devs are experimenting with AI right now, but the results are usually temporary. Images live in Discord threads, prompts disappear in chat history, and projects get lost in random folders.
This site is my way of keeping those experiments organized and visible.
<h2>What’s Coming Next</h2>
Right now the site focuses mainly on AI-generated images, but I’m expanding it into three sections:
Images
AI art experiments and generated visuals.
Prompts
The exact prompts used to generate images.
Music
AI-generated music experiments created with Suno.
Eventually, the idea is that anyone can explore the results and see the creative process behind them.
<h2>My Final Thoughts</h2>
Building this wasn’t about creating something polished or perfect. It was about building something useful for myself and sharing it publicly.
Sometimes the best projects come from scratching your own itch.
