Apple complied with an FBI request and revealed the real iCloud email address behind an anonymized address used by a suspect. This highlights the difference between privacy marketing and actual data protection: if a company can access your data, they can be compelled by governments to hand it over. End-to-end encrypted services like ProtonMail, where even the provider cannot read user data, are presented as a more genuinely private alternative.
