OpenTelemetry makes sense generically but doesn’t provide the best implementations with most APM solutions. It typically supports only the latest versions of things and a narrow set of frameworks. Most APM providers have invested millions in supporting older and more frameworks.
Using open telemetry with Grafana makes sense, but open telemetry itself is sort of limiting compared to full APM, just FYI.
