Why are tech people suddenly so into homeschooling?

It makes sense.
Truly engaged parents try to answer the question on if the available solutions (most likely the local public school) are really going to provide the most long term benefit for their child. Is the local public school not providing the best possible education because its too overwhelmed by other priorities?
But private school can be an answer, at least in the early years. Many private schools use methodologies that public schools stopped using, much to the detriment of the public.
However its all thrown into doubt if you are not an engaged parent.
