Amazon acquired Bee, an AI wearable that records conversations and acts as a personal AI companion, to extend its AI presence beyond the home. Unlike Alexa-powered devices that focus on in-home experiences, Bee is designed for on-the-go use cases like recording meetings, lectures, and interviews. The device builds a knowledge graph from user recordings and connected services (Gmail, Calendar, Apple Health) to provide personalized insights and suggestions. Amazon plans to eventually integrate Bee with Alexa but will maintain Bee's distinct AI experience for now. The eight-person team continues developing new features from their San Francisco headquarters.
