OffiX is a WiFi-based presence tracking system built for a student group's office. Instead of tracking people across locations, it monitors who is currently in a specific physical space by passively capturing 802.11 probe requests from registered MAC addresses. Users register their devices once via a web interface, then check presence through a web UI or Slack integration. The Slack bot posts announcements when someone arrives, which significantly increased office visits. The system is privacy-friendly by design since it only reveals presence within the monitored space and cannot track people elsewhere. Source code is available on GitHub.
