When developing your app, always test on physical devices. Simulators and emulators don't always reflect how things look and behave on real hardware. This alone will save you hours.

Same goes for your APIs. I use Expo Router API routes a lot. Developing in localhost with hot reload is great, but once you hit a stable version, deploy to a preview URL and use that for development. When you're ready for production, just deploy and switch the endpoint. (You can automate this with EAS, by the way.)
