Yet another yuck on someone’s yum… If you like mechanical keyboards and the typing experience on them then great!. I have a ten-keyless (no number pad) keyboard and my wife has no idea how I work… she’s a bookeeper so it doesn’t make sense to her. For me, I like the extra desk space I get back for my mouse. The rest of this video is just a screed against people liking what they like and shaming them for it.
Short answer, let people like what they like and don’t crap on them for it. If they are being annoying and condescending to you then that’s a fair criticism but making sweeping generalizations is just foolish. It’s 2024 I would have hoped we could move past petty issues like this.

I’ve found that having a mechanical keyboard and a mouse with back-fwd buttons has helped improve my typing speed and overall productivity. While some people prefer to invest in more expensive ergonomic options, I’ve been happy with my budget-friendly choices.
I’ve had this mechanical RGB keyboard for 8 years now, and it’s still going strong. While it’s often associated with gaming, I picked it up for its tactile feel and responsiveness, which have been invaluable for my coding work. It’s a testament to the durability and longevity of mechanical keyboards.
Ultimately, the most important factor for becoming a great developer is consistent practice and learning. A powerful computer or fancy peripherals won’t make you a better programmer. So, don’t be afraid to start with what you have and focus on building your skills.
