Redis 8 is now generally available with significant performance improvements including 87% faster commands and 2x more throughput. The company renamed Redis Community Edition to Redis Open Source and added AGPLv3 licensing. Azure Managed Redis reached general availability in partnership with Microsoft, while Redis Software 7.22 delivered major performance boosts for on-premises deployments. Redis Cloud Pro users can now perform self-serve database upgrades and benefit from reduced Private Service Connect endpoints on GCP.
