<p>PowerToys 0.98 is out with a handful of genuinely useful changes. Here’s what’s worth knowing.</p>
<h2>Command Palette Dock</h2>
<p>The headline addition is the Command Palette Dock, currently in preview. You can pin your favorite commands to a persistent bar anchored to any edge of the screen. It’s a handy way to keep frequently used actions accessible without opening the full palette each time. The palette itself also got some attention: window transparency options, preserved search text between sessions, and noticeable performance improvements through caching and UI optimizations.</p>
<h2>Keyboard Manager rebuilt</h2>
<p>The Keyboard Manager editor was rewritten using WinUI 3 and C#. The old separate windows for key remaps and shortcut remaps are gone - everything now lives in a single unified view. Each remapping gets its own toggle switch, so you can enable or disable individual remaps without deleting them. You can also enable or disable remappings via shortcut.</p>
<h2>CursorWrap rewrite</h2>
<p>The cursor wrapping engine was rewritten from scratch, with better handling of complex multi-monitor layouts. There’s also a new activation mode that requires holding Ctrl or Shift before the cursor wraps, which should cut down on accidental wraps.</p>
<h2>Always on Top</h2>
<p>You can now pin a window via right-click on the title bar, which is more discoverable than the previous keyboard-only approach. Transparency controls were also added.</p>
