InfluxDB 3 Explorer 1.8 introduces several new features for writing and managing time-series data. The release adds a Data Subscriptions page for streaming data directly from MQTT, Kafka, and AMQP sources into databases. Sample data capabilities are expanded with richer preset previews, AI-generated custom datasets, and live data plugins (System Metrics and US Weather) that continuously write data on a schedule. A new line protocol validator provides real-time schema previews and inline error highlighting before writing. Finally, database and table retention periods are now viewable and editable directly in the UI, eliminating the need to use the API or CLI.
