Key improvements include expanded CLI support for headless/automated environments, increased default string field limit to 1MB, cleaner database lifecycle management (triggers decommissioned on DB removal), and upgrades to DataFusion and bundled Python for better query execution and plugin security. A beta performance preview is available in InfluxDB 3 Enterprise, featuring optimized single-series queries, resource smoothing during compaction/ingestion bursts, wide-and-sparse table support, and automatic distinct value caches. The beta is flag-gated and intended for staging/development environments only, with GA features planned for versions 3.10 and 3.11.
