Fedora KDE Plasma Desktop Edition 44 has been released, shipping with KDE Plasma 6.6.4. Key new features include custom global theme creation, Wi-Fi QR code scanning, per-application volume control, a new grayscale colorblindness filter, a screen magnifier, OCR scanning in Spectacle, and new accessibility settings. Fedora-specific additions include a new Plasma Setup and Plasma Login Manager for fresh installs, and a new Plasma Keyboard on-screen input. General Fedora 44 changes include DNF 5 as the PackageKit backend and Qualcomm laptop support. Star Labs now offers preinstalled Fedora KDE as an option on their devices through the Fedora Ready program.
