Azure Databricks announced several new capabilities at Microsoft Fabric Community Conference (FabCon) 2026. Key launches include: Lakeflow Connect Free Tier offering 100 free DBUs/day for ingesting up to 100 million records per workspace daily; Lakebase GA, a managed serverless Postgres service now available in 14 Azure regions for operational workloads within the lakehouse; an Azure Databricks Excel Add-in in public preview for direct governed data access; and expanded Genie AI analytics features including Agent Mode for multi-step analytical reasoning, Genie Code for agentic data engineering workflows, and a unified multi-agent chat experience in Databricks One with mobile support on iOS and Android.
