Take 10 seconds to make the message not generic. Once I spot a template I’m out.

Please don’t tell me it’s a “unicorn” or a “stealth startup”. Tell me what the job is. Clearly state what the role is. Say what the size of the company actually is. Don’t say “opportunity for growth,” tell me that there is a definitive career progression. Tell me how the role fits within the organizational structure. Show me that you’ve read my profile/resume and understand how my skills map to the new role. “Oh, I see that you’re a software engineer with experience in Python, Rust, Go, SQL, and have experience in technical writing. So clearly you’d be great at writing Typescript and Vue, because I’m only interested in cramming human-shaped entities into this human-shaped hole, and all software engineers are the same.”
