The Kubernetes claim model distinguishes between desired and observed states by using claims, which are user requests for resources with specified requirements. Resources like Nodes and PersistentVolumes fulfill these claims. This model enables decoupling of producer and consumer roles, provisioning and use, as well as resource recycling and suballocation.
