People need to log off of social media for good. It’s a sickness. Influencers are just people taking advantage of hacked attention span to hawk bullshit products to people who don’t have the money for them.

It’s fascinating to read this. What struck me is that the author frames these as “lessons learned,” when in reality they’re more like rediscoveries or wayyy delayed realisations. Saying “I learned unstaged photos feel more natural” is backwards. It suggests this is new knowledge, when in truth the opposite was always visible and they just suppressed / didn’t realise it at the time: staged photos already felt fake.
That’s the worrying part for me - how easy it is to suppress or forget stuff like this while being immersed in a certain environment or bubble.
That said, I’m glad they reached that clarity. My gripe with realisation vs learning does not take away from the good lesson and reminder that stepping offline is important and should be done more often. :)
