<p>Interesting read. The point from the article that I want to emphasize is the difference between hours worked and impact made. I personally work “only” 6.5h a day because I have other responsibilities outside of work. Rarely have I felt the need to work more. In my mind, I just skip the 1.5h my coworkers blankly stare on their screen each workday afternoon.</p>
<p>Don’t get me wrong, in these 6.5h I go hard. I try to excel every single day and then go home and do other stuff. This other stuff keeps my ability to go hard at work up. This other stuff may be my family, side projects, or hobbies completely devoid of any work context. They simply give my life meaning beyond work and that, in my opinion, keeps the burnout away. Meaning. Purpose. Whatever you call it.</p>
