Sir Tim is correct about the worst of web3 as a brand.
As a technology, HTTP had it’s moment and HTML isn’t going anywhere for awhile.
His contributions are legenday, like Decartes.
However, Decartes isn’t the end of the story, nor is Berners-Lee.

I totally agree.
Blockchain has it’s uses in other use cases like we see in crypto, NFTs, anything that involves transactions really if I look at all the use cases so far.
What Solid does to achieve true data ownership to the users is interesting and it should be more looked at. PDS Interop are one of them that actually work on Solid, <a href="https://pdsinterop.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener nofollow">https://pdsinterop.org/</a>, and also in the Belgium state, Vlaanderen, are working on a Solid ecosystem for their citizens <a href="https://overheid.vlaanderen.be/informatie-vlaanderen/ontdek-onze-producten-en-diensten/solid-ecosysteem" target="_blank" rel="noopener nofollow">https://overheid.vlaanderen.be/informatie-vlaanderen/ontdek-onze-producten-en-diensten/solid-ecosysteem</a>.
I do see a future with Solid that can change all of our societies and bring data ownership to the user and also be decentralized, a Web 3.0 as Tim Berners-Lee calls it.

Hmmm, always dubious when someone’s main pitch to sell you their thing is by denigrating a competitive force.
“You should support my old-school value-extraction-based business solution. I promise it will benefit you - but no I will not be pursuing a way to share ownership, profits, or autonomy with the community that does the majority of the work.”
These aging tech tycoons all sound the same. Wonder why they’re so threatened by Web3?
