The team tested it by building a clean TypeScript bookstore API, then creating 5 PRs with escalating code quality issues — from sloppy variable names to eval() with user input and hardcoded passwords. Roast Mode found 39 real issues across all 5 PRs with zero false positives, escalating from 'address before merge' to 'Do NOT merge' as severity increased. Notably, it prioritized real bugs over easy stylistic jokes, behaving more like a sharp senior engineer than a comedian. Every finding included a specific line reference, explanation, and fix recommendation.
