We’ve revamped how deduplication works on daily.dev. Now, all representations of the same post are treated as one, whether it’s the original or a reshare.
<h2>What this means for you</h2>
If you’ve already scrolled past, upvoted, or interacted with a post, you won’t see it again when someone shares it to a Squad later. The feed ranking penalties we apply to posts you’ve seen now aggregate across all versions of the same content.
Under the hood, every post now has a dedup key that we use instead of post ID to track your interactions. Same content, single entry in your feed. The way it should’ve always worked.
Your feed should feel noticeably less repetitive now. If you’re still seeing duplicates slip through, let us know. We’re listening.
