A Blender artist and biologist known as A_Flying_Ferret has spent 4-5 months building a detailed skeletal rig in Blender as a visual aid for artists studying anatomy. The rig features roughly 200 separate bone objects, each with its own armature bone. Particularly challenging parts included the spine (about a week of work) and the ribs (nearly two weeks), which needed to move with the vertebrae while allowing cartilage deformation. The project is still in progress, with potential future additions of muscles and tendons. The artist is also exploring ways to share the rig publicly.
