Amazon data centres in the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain have been damaged by drone strikes in the Middle East.

Amazon Web Services data centres in the UAE and Bahrain were struck by Iranian drone and missile attacks, causing structural damage, power disruption, and water damage from fire suppression. AWS warned recovery would be prolonged. The outage disrupted a dozen core cloud services and affected financial institutions in the region. AWS advised customers to migrate workloads to unaffected regions. The incident marks the first time a major US tech company's data centre has been disrupted by military action, raising concerns about Big Tech's rapid expansion into geopolitically volatile regions where adversaries may now target compute infrastructure alongside traditional energy assets.
