You have to always remember that this knowledge is never going to waste. Worst case you can always synthesize it with other stuff you learn or already know and innovate in a new field where you might thrive. It’s easy to assume you’ll end up being a software engineer (fairly traditional route) but life is much more complex and you never know how it will play out. The worst thing you could have done is no action. Which you haven’t! Stay strong, keep going.
