I would like to learn Python online, I have been having bad experiences with VSCode, could someone recommend resources.

If you are a total beginner I would recommend starting with Thonny (<a href="https://thonny.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener nofollow">https://thonny.org/</a>) instead

This is not “disaster” of VS code.
All is up to your skill and experience.
VS code is best coding tool for developers.

You can read the error message… Your code simply lacks something like “from numpy import random”.

Two things might have happened, either you don’t have numpy module installed or you might have named any file <a href="http://numpy.py" target="_blank" rel="noopener nofollow">numpy.py</a> and so it is trying to fetch the module from this file so try to rename the file, if any.
